Step 2 - Get test funds

This page describes how to get test funds to use the Botanix Testnet. Several options are outlined

Our testnet is using Mutiny Signet BTC. This means that testnet or signet BTC is not working and will be lost if sent to a Botanix generated address.

If you would like to test the Botanix EVM Testnet, you will need some test funds. This page describes the different options of how you can get test funds:

Option 1 - Airdrop

Only for Testnet V0 users!

Have you contributed to the testing of our previous testnet? Then it's your lucky day!

On day 1 of our testnet, we will airdrop testnet funds to all addresses that had a meaningful contribution. This means addresses that have deployed contracts, minted NFTs, created tokens, achieved a certain tier of the ambassador program and so forth. The higher your contribution, the more you will get! Rewards vary between 0,5 BTC and 0,001 BTC.

After connecting to our testnet, simply check the wallet address that you used on our previous testnet and the funds will be there. Don't forget to delete the old network and connect to the new one!

Option 2 - Daily Galxe / Zealy quest

In case you didn't receive any funds through the airdrop or you simply need more funds to test with, visit the Daily Galxe or Zealy task and register your (EVM) wallet address. Each day, we will send 0,001 BTC to each address that registered in the past 24h. Funds are being send around 12 PM UTC.

Option 3 - Mutinynet Faucet + Botanix Bridge

Mutinynet Faucet issues

This method describes the full bridge experience for those that would like to try it. However, we have noticed that the Mutinynet faucet can get dry which means that this method does not work. We are working on a fix so you'll be able to use the bridge.

For the full bridging experience follow these steps! Here we describe how to bridge Mutinynet signet bitcoin to the Botanix Testnet using the Botanix Bridge. If you feel stuck in any of the steps, don't hesitate to contact us through our Discord and we will be happy to help you complete the process.

Visual step-by-step tutorial

Step 1 - Get your deposit address

Visit https://bridge.botanixlabs.dev/, connect and authenticate your web3 wallet. After this onboarding process, you will be able to copy your deposit address on the deposit page.

Step 2 - Request some funds

Navigate to faucet.mutinynet.com and choose how much sats your want to receive. Paste your deposit address in the Destination field. Click Make it rain.

How much sats do you need?

100k - 1M should do the trick to test out most of the functionality on the Botanix Testnet. Be aware that other people also want to test and need funds. There is no reward for those holding a lot of funds and no advantage for them.

Step 3 - Register your transaction ID

After you requested your funds, you will be able to open the transaction in mempool.space. Do this and copy the transaction ID.

Now navigate back to the Botanix Bridge and click Next Step or go to the Claim tab. Paste your transaction ID and click Register. Your transaction will now be added to your Deposit History.

After at least 2 confirmations, you are ready to claim the deposited funds to your EVM wallet. Click the yellow claim button. The claim will now go in "Processing" mode. Refresh the deposit history or the page to see if it has succeeded.

It can happen that the broadcast failed, in that case, simply click Retry

After a few seconds, the funds will show up in your wallet and you are ready to use the Botanix Testnet!
